I had a fun time with Ali and Bennett yesterday! Since Bennett was napping, I made Ali pose for me, against her will, and I she looks amazing!! When B-Nut finally woke up he put on some enormous smiles and loved laughing and playing with his Momma! Enjoy the pics.

The long awaited updated post
So yes, I am aware it has been like a million years since I last updated the blog. I was so proud of being on top of at least doing it every weekend...then my computer crashed. Well, actually, the sound stopped working, the desktop crashed and many programs didn't work. We ordered a new one from HP only to have it pronounced "DOA" (dead on arrival) by a very nice man somewhere in India. The first one shipped back and the second one arrived. I went along my merry way for about 48 hours before I got the blue screen of death--total wipe out of the operating system along with the few documents that I had been working on in that short time. That HP went back and now I am back on my "clunker"--no sound, no graphics, essentially a dinosaur. It is a Dell, however, and seems to take a lickin and keeps on tickin, so I think I am going to explore getting a new Dell.
With all of that said, October has been a very busy month for the Smith Family! After Bennett's baptism, we have had several weeks of new activities. Some major milestones from Mr. Bennett:
1. Bennett has discovered his feet and they are his new favorite friends. He likes to hold them all the way up to his face all the time. Not just touch them, pull them all the way up and stare at them and sometime gum them up. It is all very lovely that he has friends, but I am thinking we need more social time with other kids...
2. Bennett has become very good at the sitting--he can sit unassisted for a good long bit. We knew it was coming shortly after the baptism when he decided that he hated the Bumbo now (see previous post "We Love the Bumbo") and made every attempt to escape. He would twist his entire body to get out of it and definitely could not be left in the Bumbo as a seat--he simply would get away!
3. When on the belly, he is bringing his knees up under him while plowing his head into the floor, then pushing way up high with his arms and flailing his feet behind him. After doing this for some time, he becomes extremely upset that he can't move and totally deteriorates...we are certainly going to be in trouble once he figures it out!
Today we did a photo shoot with Dad, so those pics will come in the near future...for now I thought I would just get some news out but photos are promised soon!

Bennett's Baptism
The weekend of the 25th of September we had the baptism for Bennett. Our small little event turned into quite the large family event with the Boy, my parents, the Smith's, aunt Cathy, Saak, Uncle Paul and Aunt Terri, Amy and Hailey, the Babcock's, the Wheeler's, Aaron and Alexa...Did I miss anyone? Here are a few pics for your viewing pleasure...

FOOD!
We have lots of posts to make from last weekend from Bennett's Christening, however, after our pediatrican's visit today, we started on solid foods! He made some funny faces as we put the food in his mouth, but he kept it all down, so that was good! His stats were:
Length: 24 1/2 inches
Weight: 12lbs, 11ozs
He was still 50th percentile for height, but was down to the 40th percentile for weight so we have to add another feeding. I am sure he will pack on the lbs now that we are feeding as he still wants a full milk feeding as well!

ModMa
Most of you know that my friend Tracey and I started a group for modern mamas in the area. We had our first meeting this past Wednesday and it was a total success! We were covered in the town paper--there is a picture in the print copy, but you can read the online version at the link below and visit our website at the other link...enjoy!

September 11th then September 19th
The weekend of September 11th Kyle came to visit. We got him to hold Bennett, but couldn't get the camera in time before Kyle's system rejected the holding of the baby and we had to save Bennett from falling...:-)
Michael came the following weekend to meet his nephew and go out on the boat. This was his first time here since he spent the summer with us...we have to do it more frequently now that he is out of college and a member of the real world. We got Michael out on the wakeboard and he was able to get up and ride his first time out! We finished off the visit with a trip to Einstein bagels...our favorite!
Grandpa Kline got Bennett his exersaucer around the same time...he love it! He can't quite jump around yet, but he LOVES to stand up and fusses if he can't be standing, so we thought we'd get it started!
Labor Day Weekend September 7th
So I am really far behind on my blog posts because I have been trying to upload pictures only to find that I was trying to upload videos and pics in the same upload which is frowned upon by the blogger system. Yes I do have a college education...just goes to show you...
On Labor Day Karen, Brian and Andrew drove up from New Jersey to spend time with us. These are some pics out at St. Mary's by the Sea in Black Rock:-)
Sept 7th also marked Bennett's first FSU football game against Miami...we didn't get the win, but

Lots of Happenings!
Last weekend on the 28th-30th the Howard's came up for a visit. It was so great to see Hailey up and walking, almost on her own! Then this past Thursday Bennett went on his first plane ride to Nashville and then his first stay in a hotel! He did great--didn't cry at all for take off and landing! He slept 7 hours at the hotel, so pretty normal, but I had to keep him in the bed because I was just too exhausted to go through the motions of putting him down in the crib. When we got back, he slept through the night as if nothing happened--what a good little traveller!
